Mandatory B2B e-invoicing

January 2014

Mandatory B2G e-invoicing introduced for suppliers to the Austrian federal government.

E-reporting rollout

April 2020

Mandate has been passed into law

Austria aligns with the EU e-Invoicing Directive requiring acceptance of EN 16931-compliant invoices.

Royal Decree published

2030

Austria is expected to align with future EU VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) requirements.

This mandate currently affects e-invoicing, not e-reporting.
