Mandatory B2B e-invoicing

The Government of Canada begins modernizing federal procurement through digital invoicing initiatives.

E-reporting rollout

2020

Canada joins OpenPeppol and begins evaluating Peppol for government procurement.

Royal Decree published

2021

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) launches Peppol pilot projects for federal procurement.

Present

Domestic B2B e-invoicing remains voluntary, with continued expansion of Peppol adoption across public and private sectors.
